SECONDARY SECTION (BSS)
caters for boys in the age group of 14 – 17 years, Classes IX –XII. |

We are
involved in the devoted mission of transforming these youngsters into
composed, astute, and self-disciplined individuals who can face the
challenges ahead. We will endeavour to develop each boy to his full
potential in an atmosphere that fosters independence, creativity,
diligence, pride in oneself and pride in one’s school. |

BSS is
fortunate to have internationally qualified high caliber faculty of 64. The Section is headed by Vice Principal of the Boys Section,
Mr. Alamgir Islam, an experienced academician,
administrator and a strict disciplinarian. |

Evaluation
is conducted regularly through Gulf Board Examination (Classes IX & XI),
CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation), Unit Tests & Terminal
Examinations. Board Examinees (Class X & XII) have Model and
Preliminary Examinations too. Remedial Classes are conducted for low
achievers and Special Examination is conducted for high achievers.

assignments, worksheets, sample papers, etc |

Co-curricular Activities
are organized house-wise. Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, Garnet, Sapphire
and Topaz are the six (6) houses. Secondary responsibilities are
assigned to teachers who have expertise in the relevant area. |

The section
has a well resourced library which is managed by Chief Librarian Mr
Nazeer. The library has over 20,000 volumes, fully automated and the
circulation desk is manned by trained staff. Multi-media computers and
supervised access to the Internet are available during school hours for
student research. Each class has a library period during the week and
there are additional opportunities during recess for children to use
this attractive facility. The library subscribes to 9 local and Indian
newspapers and 12 magazines. The library has an active procurement
programme, both overseas and local, to add and update its collection.
Most children may borrow two books at a time. Failure to return books
may result in a request for replacement costs |

Academic Programme at BSS is backed by modern, well-equipped
laboratories
for Science & Technology and all branches of Science & Informatics. We
try to mould young Scientists in our well-equipped laboratories. BSS
computer labs are arrayed with latest generation computers |

PHYSICAL & HEALTH
EDUCATION |

BSS PE
Department is staffed by a four (4) member strong professional faculty
headed by Mr N Lakshmaiah, Senior PE Teacher. Boys have opportunity to
participate in a wide range of sports and recreation activities. A
huge
multipurpose hall is available for indoor games. A modern multi-purpose
gymnasium
with
high-tech equipments for physical training is open for students during
and after school hours under supervision. We provide our children
opportunity to compete in higher level sports events at Cluster, Zonal
and National Meets. Coaching is provided in Badminton, Table Tennis,
Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Soccer, Cricket, Acrobatics, etc |

CAREER GUIDANCE
CELL (CGC) |

BSS offers
our teenagers counseling, guidance and information on various courses
offered by Universities and Educational Institutions in India and
Overseas. CGC also conducts career talks by professionals from various
fields. Career Fair is conducted annually with participation of leading
educational institutions |

MEDICAL
CARE |
|
BSS has
well-equipped First Aid facility with a senior nurse in-charge. Regular
ophthalmic and Dental Check-up is conducted.
QUARANTINE POLICY
– is in effect for the benefit of the school community. This policy is
applicable against the following diseases
·
Chicken Pox – Child will not be allowed in school or travel in school
bus for a period of fifteen (15) days from the date of eruption. In mild
cases the child may be allowed to attend class after ten (10) days from
the onset of the disease, provided that all primary crusts (scabs) have
fully disappeared and a certificate from a Pediatrician stating that the
child is no longer infective is produced.
·
Measles – Seven (7) days from the date of eruption.
·
Mumps - Seven (7) days from the date of infection or till the parotid
swelling has subsided.
Children suffering from ‘infectious disease’ will not be allowed to
appear at the examinations.
Medical Insurance
– All students and staff are insured against accidents occurring during
the school hours in the school premises and while using the school
transport. |

Canteen
– The section has a Canteen run by a private contractor providing
refreshments to staff and students. |
