The aim of any school should be to provide the best possible education
to its students. Towards this end IISD Girls’ Section endeavors to
provide a large and dedicated faculty with wide range of skills and
interests and varied and wide choice of activities – academic, aesthetic
and athletic- an environment enriched with the excitement of discovering
challenge, competitiveness and discipline based on the belief that
responsibility comes before freedom. |

Section and Faculty Members: |
|
The GSS is headed by The Headmistress, Ms. Dhanalaxmi Ramanujam and 55
Vibrant, alert and enthusiastic teachers who adopts the latest
interactive technology for teaching. These teachers are totally
committed and dedicated. They make every attempt to reach out
individually to every student. Each class has a maximum of 35 students.
The Section consists of 1182 girl students, comprising classes of Class
IX-XII. |

The
school has a well planned building. It is well aired and spacious. It
houses a well stocked
1) Laboratory- Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Home Science and
Biotechnology.
2) Library- consists of 11 000 plus books.
3) Computer Centre.
4) Indoor court:- Badminton, Table tennis, Gymnastics are
regularly held here.
5) Clinic:- Manned by a trained nurse. Where students height and
weight is checked twice a year. The clinic is equipped with 4 -5 beds.
6) Canteen:- Healthy & Clean snacks and juices are served here.
The nutritional needs of the children are taken care of.
7) Cash Office Counter:- Cash office is operational in the section on
all working days to accommodate girl students for payment of fees.

IISD Girls’ section follows NCERT syllabus from Class IX to Class XII.
Teachers take great care in choosing the books required for all levels.
This enables the students to acquire correct input at proper age.
Second Languages offered in classes
IX-X are: Hindi, Arabic,
Urdu, French, Malayalam, Tamil. Subjects offered for Classes XI-XII
in the Senior Secondary Section are: English, Mathematics, Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Home Science
Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Computer Science, Information
Practices, Psychology. |

At IISD Girls’ Section, each student is given counseling to choose the
path of her choice. The correct guidance at the right time has proved a
boon for the students time and again. The school adopts an “open door
policy”. Here parents and students are encouraged to confer with
teachers continuously to understand the progress of the child or for
the students to clear their doubts about subject or any other matter
related to their academics. |

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: |
|
School conducts various activities ranging from drama, debate,
declamation to creative writing, sports, art & craft and value
education. It gives due importance to develop the artistic talents to
the students. Art education is a compulsory subject till class X.
Information Bureau Squad,
a team of girls from each class are selected are to display details
about Current affairs and General Knowledge. General Knowledge Tests are
conducted periodically, toppers are awarded.
Wall Magazine Competition
is being held throughout the academic year. Students display their
innovative ideas with Illustrations, articles and drawings etc., |

To imbibe higher social values among students value education is given
importance. Through lecture on value education in the morning assembly
and through class room instructions every effort is made to mould the
students into good citizens and a complete human being-the thinker, the
doer and the maker.
